Kahala beach rentals are popular as a premiere location in the “Beverly Hills” of Hawaii. Kahala’s beautiful ocean front properties, old Hawaiiana charm and lush tropical landscapes make it a destination of choice for high-end travelers. Although tucked away in a quiet and secluded neighborhood behind Diamond Head Crater, Kahala is also within minutes of fine dining, shopping and activities in Waikiki and Honolulu. Here’s our quick tips to renting in Kahala Beach:
1. Walking Distance to Kahala Resort
All Kahala beach rentals are within easy walking distance to Kahala Resort, a premiere destination featuring fine dining at the award-winning Hoku’s Restaurant, two fabulous beachfront cafes and dolphin pools that the kids will love. Kahala Resort is also a key destination for weddings and special events with both indoor and outdoor event areas available. And if you’re in the mood for a massage or spa service, be sure to check out their luxury spa. Spa and fitness memberships can also be purchased by the month which also allows pool access.
2. Walk to Waialae Country Club & PGA Sony Open
If you’re visiting Hawaii in January for the PGA Sony Open, Kahala beach rentals are the perfect option as it’s just a few minutes walk to get to the event. Make sure to make reservations early as Kahala beach rentals are in very high demand during the event. Tickets are inexpensive for this event and parking is usually the pricier expense, something you don’t have to worry about while staying here.
3. Stroll Kahala Ave.
Be sure to take an early morning walk along Kahala Ave. to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of beachfront estates that are among the priciest in the world. Also in December, Kahala Ave. is miles 22-24 of the world-famous Honolulu Marathon route. Kahala Avenue is home to some of the largest estates on Oahu and it is a treat to view these from both Kahala Avenue as well as from the beachside too.
4. Kahala Beach Rentals ~ They’re Really on the Beach!
Kahala beach rentals feature some of the best oceanfront views and access in Hawaii. When you rent, be sure to look for top floor oceanview locations that feature more sunlight and trade wind breezes. Direct oceanfront units are very rare (and pricey) but we do offer a number of partial ocean view and ocean view units if you book early enough.
5. Book Early
There are only 24 direct oceanfront Kahala beach rental units but many other units have a partial ocean view from the lanai. Bookings during event times like the Sony Open can be difficult as inventory is low, so be sure to make reservations as far in advance as possible. Summer and Winter months are the busiest seasons with small surge charges in the price due to demand, check early and often for availability.
